Purchase & Shipping Questions:

 

Is there sales tax?
Sales tax is charged on orders delivered to Iowa only. 

 

When will my credit card be charged?
Payment for all orders is processed when you order. If you are ordering during winter months, this ensures you have reserved the plants you want will be available when spring arrives.

 

Can I order early?
Yes. Many gardeners prefer to order early to ensure the plants they want are available, even if planting time is months away. Your credit card will be processed when you order.

 

Can I order late?
We will accept and ship orders all the way through the planting season. However, if conditions are too hot for shipping in your area or ours, shipment may be delayed until temperatures are better.

 

When will my plants ship?
Plants are packed and shipped so they arrive at the proper planting time (depending on climatic conditions) for your area of the country. Weather conditions in your area or ours may affect the shipping time.

* Actual ship dates vary depending on weather conditions in your location and ours. Due to hot conditions in late spring and summer, shipping may be delayed until temps are suitable. 

 

How are my plants shipped?

Plants are carefully potted in CowPots with their free metal plant identification marker. Each pot is secured in a recyclable plastic bag to keep the soil in place during shipping. The shipping boxes are recyclable, as is the packaging we use to secure plants safely in place (no styrofoam peanuts or plastic trays). 

 

Your plants may arrive in more than one box. This will not effect the shipping price.

 

Which carrier will deliver the plants?
We use Priority Mail or FedEx to deliver plants -- they are often in transit as little as 2 or 3 days without an added charge.

 

Please supply a street address for delivery. Double check ZIP code and other information as we cannot be responsible to shipment delay due to inaccurate addresses.

 

If you'll be away at expected time of delivery, please contact us so that we may adjust the delivery schedule and plants do not sit unattended.

 

How long until I receive my order?
If you ordered early, your plants will arrive according to the shipping schedule above.

 

If it's already planting time in your area, orders are typically shipped within a week of ordering.

 

Can I expedite shipping?
Yes. If you'd like to overnight plants, please email us at growhappy@witsendgardens.com to make arrangements.

 

Are there shipping restrictions?
Yes. We cannot deliver plants to Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO or DPO addresses, or to any addresses outside the continental U.S.

 

Also, some plant varieties are restricted by State Agricultural Departments and cannot be shipped to those states. If there is a restriction, you will see a notation in the 'Shipping Information' section for the plant.

 

What does shipping cost?
Please refer to the chart below to determine shipping costs. The information below is for bare roots and 4" potted plants. Some plants are sold in gallon-sized pots which adds $2 to shipping.

Every Wit's End plant is guaranteed to be healthy, true to variety, packed safely for shipping and ready to thrive in your garden.

Guarantee terms vary on when plants are shipped.

Spring shipped plants (March – June) are guaranteed for 60 days.

Summer shipped plants (July and August) are guaranteed for 30 days.

Fall shipped plants (September and October) are guaranteed to emerge the next spring.
 
We cannot accept responsibility for losses caused by extreme weather, unforeseeable acts of nature, neglect or inappropriate hardiness zone or garden site.

If a plant fails, email a photo to growhappy@witsendgarden.com. We will make every effort to replace the plant at no cost for plant or shipping. If healthy stock is not available, a refund for the plant will be made.

Bad addresses:
Plants shipped to incorrect or incomplete addresses are not guaranteed.

Returns:
Plants and custom printed markers may not be returned.

What should I do if the plants were damaged during shipping? Despite our best efforts to protect plants during shipping, accidents can happen. If your shipment was damaged during shipping, please provide photos of the damaged plant/s, as well as the package. Email images and order number to growhappy@witsendgardens.com. We will make every effort to replace as soon as feasible. If stock is not available, a refund will be made.
