Eupatorium Chocolate - Joe Pye

Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolate'

Common name: Joe Pye, Mist Flower, White Snakeroot

Purple colored leaves form a shrub-like clump that bursts with small white flowers in late summer and fall. Also referred to as Ageratina altissim, it's at home at the edge of a woodland setting tolerating shade better than other Eupatorium. If conditions are right, it can spread by seed; deadheading helps keep it under control.
